Course CTAV 624 – Using Web 2.0 in Teaching and Instruction (ONLINE)

This course will arm participants with historical and timely information as well as relevant case histories that will lead to them being ‘informed’ and ‘prepared’ to go into 21st century classrooms and into positions of administrative authority; ready and committed to impact the ‘affective’ dimension of the learning process-which we believe to be of equal value to the ‘learning and teaching’ dimension.
 

Course CTAV 625 – Understanding the Digital Generation: Teaching and Learning in the New Digital Landscape (ONLINE)

This course will help educators understand and practice essential coaching skills to create continuous improvement in their classrooms. Participants will learn to develop and implement an effective coaching/teaching and mentoring program to guide students toward greater academic success regardless of cultural backgrounds.
 

Course CTAV 626 – Anger Management & Effective Discipline to Prevent Violence, Part I (ONLINE)

This course will allow the participant to explore techniques to implement in the individual classrooms and school that will create a safe and positive environment for all students. In addition, the participants will acquire new knowledge and strategies to assist the students in their classroom.

This course will provide participants with an understanding of the relationship between effective and ineffective discipline plans in schools and violence prevention within the classroom and school communities. The participant will also gain knowledge of different classroom procedures to effectively meet the needs of all students.

Course CTAV 629 – Making Student Thinking Visible (ONLINE)

Practical classroom suggestions and materials are provided along with effective strategies to promote an inclusive environment in any classroom setting. The inclusive classroom is addressed and practical suggestions offered for improving behavior and social skills and promoting inclusion with peers. The impacts of NCLB on preparing students for high stakes testing and working with students at varying stages of language acquisition are also discussed. Each presenter brings a unique level of expertise and anecdotal perspective to the implementation of current legislation impacting today’s classroom teacher.
